Formula 1Rosberg batte il campione del mondo e compagno di scuderia Hamilton nella seconda sessione di libere, precedendo le due Ferrari. Male Alonso: problemi alla sua McLaren lo costringono a chiudere in anticipo la giornata
Hamilton e Rosberg dettano il passo nel primo giorno di libere sul circuito di Interlagos: nella seconda uscita il britannico cede la vetta al compagno di scuderia, che grazie al tempo di 1:12.385 si piazza davanti a tutti. Bene le Ferrari di Vettel e Raikkonen, che sono subito dietro, inseguite da Ricciardo (Red Bull) e Bottas (Williams). Chiudono la top ten Grosjean (Lotus), Hulkenberg (Force India), Kvyat (Red Bull) e il pilota di casa Massa (Williams).

Così le libere 1 - Il campione del mondo ha realizzato il miglior tempo in 1'13"543, precedendo Nico Rosberg (1'14"062) e Sebastian Vettel (1'14"168). Quarta la Red Bull di Daniel Ricciardo, quinta l'altra Ferrari guidata da Kimi Raikkonen. Il finlandese, protagonista di un testacoda nelle fasi conclusive della sessione, ha preceduto Daniil Kvyat (Red Bull).
