L'area della tribuna Nord è stata trasformata in un centro di assistenza per le persone colpite dal Covid-19. La tribuna nord sarà direttamente collegata con un centro diagnostico centrale, con test effettuati nella North Clinic, e sarà un centro di trattamento per valutare la gravità del virus e decidere se il paziente può continuare ad essere curato in regime ambulatoriale o ha bisogno di cure ospedaliere

Lo stadio Pacaembu di San Paolo si è trasformato in un ospedale da campo.Le tensostrutture che ospitano circa 200 posti letto, necessari per far fronte all'emergenza coronavirus che sta colpendo duramente anche il Brasile. Lo stadio ha una capacita di oltre 40mila posti a sedere ed è stato inaugurato negli anni Quaranta in occasione dei Mondiali di Brasile 1950. È stata per anni la casa del Corinthians, prima che la squadra si trasferisse nel nuovo impianto, realizzato per la Coppa del Mondo del 2014.

La "casa" del Real diventerà dunque un enorme spazio in cui accogliere e immagazzinare le donazioni di materiale per combattere la pandemia, giunte nella capitale spagnola in questi giorni. "Tutto il materiale", scrive il club in una nota ufficiale pubblicata sui suoi canali social, "sarà poi consegnato alle autorità sanitarie spagnole, sotto l'autorità del Governo, che le ridistribuirà nel modo più efficiente".
